Educators for Tomorrow
Educators for Tomorrow (EFT) Scholars Program is dedicated to assisting new generations of teachers and administrators who are committed to academic excellence, access, opportunity, and equity for underrepresented and underserved communities. EFT is committed to assisting AAP undergraduates who wish to pursue careers in the following areas:
K-12 Teaching
K-12 School Counseling
K-12 Educational Administration
K-12 Educational Programming
EFT Scholars work together with K-12 teachers, faculty and administrators under the mentorship of a current UCLA graduate student in Education. Throughout the year, students actively participate in a research project of their choosing in a K-12 educational setting.
Scholars attend a weekly seminar where they engage in critical discussions about issues in K-12 urban education and learn how to create educational spaces without barriers. In addition, Scholars learn about graduate programs in education and required entrance exams for their graduate program and professional careers. Upon completion of the program, students present their work at the Westwind Conference.
The program requires a year long commitment.

The Academic Advancement Program is pleased to announce that Cynthia Pineda Scott completed her dissertation, Maximizing College Pathways: An evaluative, quasi-experimental study of a university-based partnership, in spring 2009. As a UCLA undergraduate student, Dr. Scott participated in the AAP Educators for Tomorrow Program, which is dedicated to assisting new generations of teachers and administrators who are committed to academic excellence, access, opportunity, and equity for underrepresented and underserved communities.
