  F/TSP and UCLA Orientation

Freshmen
The 2012 Freshman Summer Program will run from July 30 - September 17, 2012. All FSP students must attend UCLA Orientation session 104, which begins the morning after you move into the residence hall for FSP. UCLA Orientation runs for three days, from Tuesday July 31 to Thursday August 2. While attending Orientation, you will be living with us in your assigned FSP residence hall room. When session 104 ends, you will stay in your assigned room and, on August 3, you will begin participating in the FSP activities that take place prior to the first day of instruction on Monday, August 6. FSP Commuters who attend Orientation will go directly to session 104 on the morning of July 31.

You must sign up as soon as possible for Orientation session 104, but no later than July 9, 2012 because enrollment in Orientation is on a first-come, first-served basis. When you make your Orientation reservation, you must not sign up for "Early Arrival." Students who fail to attend UCLA Orientation before the start of FSP will find themselves far behind other students in their Fall Quarter planning and will face a serious disadvantage in signing up for Fall Quarter classes.

You are responsible for paying the cost of attending UCLA Orientation. This cost is not included among the costs of attending FSP. And the Financial Aid Office does not provide financial aid for any Orientation programs. There is a possibility you may be eligible for a reduced Orientation fee. If you are a low-income student, you should apply for a fee reduction when you make your Orientation reservation. All Orientation fees will be charged on your November 2012 Billing and Accounts Receivable (BAR) account.

To sign up for UCLA Orientation and to learn more about what it offers, refer to the UCLA 2012 Student Orientation Reservation Materials. The Orientation Program will mail you this brochure in late May. If you would like general information on the Orientation Program before their brochure arrives, go to the Orientation homepage at www.orientation.ucla.edu, or contact the Orientation Program Office at orientation@college.ucla.edu or call 310-206-6685.

Transfer
The 2012 Transfer Summer Program will run from August 2 - September 17, 2012. All TSP students must attend a one day UCLA Orientation session before the start of TSP. We urge you to sign up immediately for Orientation Session 203 - which is held on Friday August 3 - because enrollment in Orientation is on a first-come first-served basis. If you are going to attend Orientation 203, you must not sign up for "Early Arrival."

If you will be living in TSP Campus Housing, and you attend Orientation 203, you will move into your assigned TSP residence hall room on Thursday August 2, the day before the day your Orientation session begins. When Orientation Session 203 ends, you will continue living in your room and begin participating in the TSP activities that take place prior to the first day of instruction on Monday, August 6.

Students who fail to attend UCLA Orientation session before the start of TSP will find themselves far behind other students in their Fall Quarter planning and will face a serious disadvantage in signing up for Fall Quarter classes.
